Construction Site Toilets

Planning considerations

A construction site toilet rental should begin with the number of workers expected on site, the work schedule, and the length of the project. A small crew on a brief repair job has different needs from a project with multiple trades, staggered shifts, or a changing workforce. Provide the anticipated daily crew count and mention whether subcontractors, inspectors, delivery drivers, or other personnel regularly use the site. This allows the conversation to focus on a workable restroom arrangement and future service considerations. Placement must support crew access without interfering with active work. Choose a level, stable area that workers can reach from the jobsite, while keeping the unit out of equipment travel lanes, material staging areas, excavations, crane paths, and vehicle turning zones. The delivery vehicle also needs a clear route. Before delivery, identify gates, site entrances, locked access points, mud, steep grades, low overhead lines, narrow drives, and any requirement to check in with a superintendent. A placement location that seems open early in a project may later become blocked by lumber, concrete forms, dumpsters, or parked machinery, so revisit the plan as work progresses. For projects where access changes, designate a site contact who can communicate location updates. Accessibility requirements should be raised during the rental discussion when relevant, rather than treated as an afterthought. It is also wise to keep the approach to the restroom clear of tools, cords, spoil piles, and temporary barriers. A clean route improves daily usability and helps crews avoid unnecessary delays during a demanding workday.
